Jordan 1 Mid SE
This Jordan 1 Mid SE features a heritage color palette with a twist as it presents the red, black and white tones of one of the most iconic Jordan colorways but with aged detailing that has seen it called the Wear-Away Chicago. While these effects predominantly mark the upper, the outsole remains untouched, its bold black exterior indented with concentric rings below the forefoot and quadrilateral-shaped lugs beneath the heel. With these formations taking care of grip, the Sail midsole, whose off-white hue brings it a slightly vintage appearance, contributes comfort through its softly cushioned interior.
Meanwhile, the base layer of the upper is a smooth white leather that acts as the perfect canvas for the colorful overlays placed across it. These take the form of the forefoot mudguard and the pair of overlays behind it, as well as the heel counter and the collar wrap. Each one blends black with Infrared 23, the former wearing away to reveal more and more of the latter over time. At first, though, the color balance is well-mixed as a hazy black effect allows patches of red to shine through.
Over the top of the foot, ventilation holes line up in a fan shape around the toe box, and just back from these is a black leather eyestay. Black laces tie up through its eyelets over a tongue in the same deep tone, before an embroidered Infrared 23 Jumpman hangs above the word “Air” at its peak. The shoe’s interior hosts another of these Jumpman logos, which once again stands out in bright red tones upon the otherwise black insole.
Back on the outer, just below the white rim around the mid-top collar, a pair of Air Jordan Wings can be found in black on the lateral side of the overlay. Then, the final elements of this dynamic sneaker emerge from a small rectangle of black leather in the center of the heel. They reach out from each side to extend along the shoe’s flanks, where they become black leather swooshes – a classic finish to this captivating Jordan 1 design.
