Nike Air Force 1 '07 SE

A number of commemorative details pay homage to the longevity of the AF1 on this Air Force 1 ‘07 SE, while a collection of fine colors gives it a stylish appearance. The rich hue of Team Red is one of these. Its warm tone envelops the sole unit, covering both the circular grooves of the rubber tread and the textured exterior of the midsole. Two Sail circles add a tonal variation to the outsole, and raised lettering in the same off-white hue spells out the word “Air” in between two embossed lines on the midsole’s lateral heel. The spongy cushioning this lettering describes comes together with soft foam to fill the inside of this feature for a comfortable step.

Sail is far more apparent on the upper, blanketing the whole forefoot, the midfoot and the rear overlay. It can also be seen on the smooth leather of the eyestay and the swooshes that adorn the sidewalls. Meanwhile, a classy Team Red swoosh has been embroidered into the forefoot mudguard on the lateral side, just behind the perforated toe box, before more powerful Team Red elements show up in the form of capitalized Nike Air text sewn into the Sail heel panel, as well as the padded inner lining and the rim of the canvas tongue. This burgundy tone appears once more on the Nike Air branding of the tongue patch and then again on the distinctive text printed over the Sail insoles. While this reads “Nike Air” on the left foot, the right carries the numbers 82 and 22 either side of a small swoosh. The first of these digits indicates the year of the original AF1 silhouette, and the second highlights the release year of this current model, which was created to mark 40 years of the iconic sneaker.

Elsewhere, the lateral heel has been subtly imprinted with the number 40, which is flanked by two pairs of debossed stars, and a large black circle with the number one in a bold font in its center has been stamped over the branding on the tongue patch, both further honoring the anniversary. Golden metal ringlets fortify the uppermost eyelets, and a golden metal lace dubrae secures the Sail laces, its oval-shaped surface etched with “AF-1” and “‘82” to complete this celebratory sneaker.
