Jordan 1 Retro High OG

Vintage color-blocking defines this Jordan 1 Retro High OG, which appears in a trio of tones that contrast perfectly against one another. The brightest is a sunny yellow known as Taxi, which shows up first on the outsole. Lining this structure is a varied collection of grip formations. There are the star-shaped nodes on the tip of the toe, the circular rings emanating across the forefoot, the large branded indentation in its center and the quadrilateral lugs arranged in a looped fashion around the heel. All of this provides the wearer with excellent traction, while the off-white midsole above it brings pleasant padding to the shoe via its blend of foam and Air cushioning.

Placed atop this solid foundation is an upper formed from premium leather. Sail makes a single appearance through the midfoot, which narrows as it approaches the heel before extending around it to a point at the back where there is a small square of Taxi-colored leather. Below this, a second band of black leather can be seen – the tail end of the swoosh that slopes downwards over the midfoot – and below this is the heel counter, once more in powerful Taxi yellow. Above these three leather pieces is another Taxi overlay. This wraps around the back of the high-cut ankle, which itself is black, and a set of Air Jordan Wings has been printed onto its lateral side in black, creating another expressive variation in color. Two eyelets have been pressed into either side of this overlay, and black laces looped through them. These tie up over a black tongue with a white patch sewn into its peak. Taxi Nike Air branding stands out upon its surface.

Meanwhile, the eyestay is made of crisp black leather, as are the forefoot overlays and mudguard. These durable panels surround a Taxi toe box whose surface is marked with lines of perforations that aerate the foot. At the opposite end of the sneaker, the black collar reaches downwards to encompass the foot in soft protective padding. Finally, the insole exhibits one final burst of color as its exterior is coated in more radiant yellow hues and a set of black Nike Air text sits boldly upon it.
