Jordan 11 Retro
"Legend Blue"
378037-117
This heritage Jordan 11 Retro was worn by Michael Jordan himself during the 1996 All-Star game, making it an instant classic. In familiar AJ11 fashion, the shoe rests upon a translucent outsole indented with wavy grip lines. A hint of blue has been mixed through this feature for an intriguing visual touch, while black pods in the heel and forefoot deliver even more grip via their herringbone tread patterns.
A carbon fiber plate has been inserted behind the outsole, its grid of black and Legend Blue squares partially visible through the translucent rubber and fully on show at the medial side of the midfoot. Meanwhile, a fine white outline delineates a Jumpman in the center of the carbon fiber layer, which is buffered on the other side by a Phylon foam midsole filled with full-length Air cushioning for extreme comfort underfoot.
The white textured exterior of the midsole gives way to a smooth, shiny surface of white patent leather that acts as the exaggerated mudguard of the upper. This encircles the entire shoe, before a white leather quarter panel and heel overlay bring further elegance over the top of the foot. White rope-style laces zigzag across the white mesh tongue, which has a Legend Blue patch sewn through its center. Black Jordan and Jumpman text is woven into this label, and a white Jumpman appears in between the two words.
A webbed lacing system creates an intriguing aesthetic down each flank, and the inner displays a contrasting black fabric. This spills out onto the heel, forming a tab there with the number 23 stamped onto it in white. A Legend Blue Jumpman resides upon the black insole, its gentle blue tone honoring Jordan’s time spent playing for the University of North Carolina before he joined the ranks of the NBA. Back on the outer, another Legend Blue Jumpman silhouette has been embroidered into the lateral heel, thus concluding this Jordan 11 sneaker in style.
