Jordan 4 Retro SE
This finely crafted Jordan 4 Retro SE has switched out the traditional leather construction of many modern sneakers for softer materials, earning it the nickname Black Canvas. Much of its stealthy upper is made from the titular material in dark gray, for a smooth, sophisticated look. The forefoot overlay departs from this, opting for suede in a deeper shade of black that adds a luxurious touch to the front of the sneaker.
More dusky gray effects appear on the flanks, firstly via the mesh netting on the quarter, which allows the foot to breathe, and then through the molded wings. At one end, these structural components attach to the canvas panel on the side of the heel, and at the other each connects with a fan-shaped lace cage. These pieces of TPU come in a lighter tone known as Light Steel Grey, each one marked with nine holes through which the black laces can be threaded. Two more reside at the bottom of the eyestay, thus providing stability from top to toe.
Elsewhere, the shoe is founded upon a strong, sturdy base that comprises a midsole filled with comfortable Air cushioning and an outsole etched with herringbone grip lines. This latter feature brings together all four of the colors found across the design, firstly through its black heel and toe cap, then via the Light Steel Grey portion down the middle of the foot. Below the forefoot is a bright Fire Red segment, while the center contains a smooth white section that hosts a Fire Red Jumpman.
The midsole also blends different hues, though without the addition of any Fire Red highlights. Light Steel Grey encircles the toe and extends down the lateral flank, where it is broken up by a small black piece of polyurethane. This black material can be seen more prominently on the medial side as it lies atop a layer of white containing a window that shows off the plush cushioning within.
Inside, the sneaker exhibits more dark gray tones across its lining and the back of the tongue, before the insole switches to black. An eye-catching Fire Red Jumpman silhouette beams out from its surface, and this vibrant hue decorates the Air Jordan text on the back of the tongue as well. The heel panel features a slightly different shade of gray to the other parts of the shoe, its molded shape formed into a pull tab at the top for easy on and off. A Light Steel Grey Jumpman logo has been embossed into the middle of its bottom half, which is defined by a tight line of stitching between it and the tab above. A final Jumpman in this same light gray adorns the tongue label, where it sits over Fire Red Flight text upon a black surface in conclusion of this refined Air Jordan 4.
