Jordan 4 Retro
"Seafoam"
AQ9129-103
The clean colors and pastel tones found across this Jordan 4 Retro lend it an effortlessly stylish look. Known as Seafoam, it rests upon the familiar foundation of the AJ4 – a multi-colured outsole with herringbone grip lines arranged to face in various different directions. On the heel and toe cap, which itself comes decorated with embossed stars rather than diagonal patterns, the shading is Neutral Grey, while through the middle of the outsole, it switches to a tender shade of olive known as Oil Green. This same tone covers the Jumpman in the center of the foot, which is surrounded by smooth white rubber, with another piece like this in the forefoot, but once again with the herringbone lines that give the shoe such solid traction.
Above this, the midsole brings together various different colors as well. Firstly, there is an Oil Green section around the toe that reaches down the lateral side to finish in a small hump around the midfoot. Along the medial flank and heel is a layer of white that contains a visible Air unit within it and another layer of Dark Ash that reappears between two areas of Oil Green on the lateral forefoot. Further up, the layered effect continues via the premium white leather of the upper as there is an overlay in the forefoot atop a larger panel that spans the whole length of the shoe. Moving up again, the collar is made of another piece of white leather, as is the quarter panel. Here, broad white netting gives way to patches of Dark Ash material on either side of the laces and below them as well, thus allowing breathability over the top of the foot.
On the heel, a large molded panel stands out boldly in Dark Ash. Its upper part has been shaped into a broad fan that can be used as a pull tab to make the shoe easier to get on. Meanwhile, its lower portion has been furnished with an Oil Green Jumpman. More of this pleasant pastel green can be found on the shoe’s inner, where it covers everything from the lining to the insole and even the back of the tongue. This last feature hosts a white Air Jordan patch, while the sockliner displays another Jumpman, this time in Dark Ash. These appealing hues come together once more on the lace cages and structural wings, the former being Oil Green, the latter Dark Ash, both strengthening the construction of the sneaker. There are four lace cages in total, two at the top of the eyestay, two at the bottom. While all of them have eyelets that help to secure the white laces, only the uppermost ones are affixed to the triangular wings for added support. Rounding out the design is a square tongue patch that blends white, Dark Ash and Oil Green in a compelling conglomeration of color.
