Multi-talented American rapper Action Bronson developed an affinity for sneaker culture thanks to his mother, who admired the high levels of comfort provided by New Balance shoes. After designing a duo of classy versions of the brand’s 990v6 model in 2023, Bronson moved on to the iconic 1906R sneaker in 2024. Across three striking colorways, he displayed his unique creative vision by compiling eclectic collections of tones that work unexpectedly well together. He also decorated them with his own customized branding effects, adding the word “Baklava” alongside the familiar New Balance logos as a reference to both his Albanian heritage and one of his popular nicknames: Mr. Baklava.

This colorful New Balance 1906R x Action Bronson sneaker was created as a nod to the culture of women’s exclusives, for which the American rapper has great respect. It brings together a surprising selection of tones in a charming display of elegance that Bronson has described as being inspired by the luxurious feeling of a rosewater spray. The off-white upper is made from two layers of mesh with both broad and narrow openings for comfortable breathability. Translucent overlays create cloudy bands across the top of the mesh, with a flush of pastel pink highlighting each flank. Here, New Balance’s famous ‘N’ logo appears in varying shades of blue, its inventive N-lock system connecting to the lush green laces to keep them secure.
