Nike Dunk Low Twist

This Nike Dunk Low Twist comes in the well-known Panda color scheme for a comfortably familiar appearance, while updated design details apply a novel look to its outer. Nothing has changed along the bottom of the outsole, whose black surface contains reliable grip formations – circular grooves in the forefoot and quadrilateral-shaped indentations under the heel. Meanwhile, the white midsole offers lightweight comfort through its foam cushioning, and its exterior achieves increased lateral depth via a few ridged sections on the side of the midfoot. In addition, the smooth strip of rubber above the line of stitching that circumnavigates the midsole has a slightly puffy bulge to it – a theme that returns elsewhere on the shoe.

Fine leather panels shape the black and white upper, the former tone appearing on the overlays in the forefoot, heel and eyestay, the latter through the toe box, the midfoot and the top part of the heel. Emerging from the seam between the midsole and the upper at each end of the sneaker is a band of black TPU tubing, which creates a distinctive aesthetic while also adding a protective buffer to the heel and toe. Above this latter piece, the toe box has been filled with aeration holes that ventilate the foot, and just up from the former, the top of the heel is free from any overlay. Instead, its white surface puffs out between two lines of stitching, instilling it with a billowy charm.

More bulging effects decorate the white tongue in the form of an embossed piece of Nike branding that rises up from its surface in the black and white tones that alternate across the rest of the design. The tongue itself, whose top edge is lined with contrasting black material, has been extended in length, and below it, within the shoe, soft black padding coats the inner lining. The insole is also black so that the bright white Nike text printed onto it stands out. Back on the outer, the sidewall swooshes are made from black TPU and have a sleeker, more tapered construction towards the tail end. This rear portion of the reworked logo floats slightly away from the upper to round off the sneaker’s unique and alluring appearance.
