Jordan 11 Retro
The gracefully grayscale look of this Jordan 11 Retro is augmented by its use of shiny accents, making it an effortlessly elegant sneaker. Its outsole is a piece of translucent Vast Grey rubber with pristine white opaque sections set into its heel and forefoot. While the see-through part has wavy indentations rippling across its surface, the solid areas are lined with herringbone grip patterns that bring further sturdiness to each step. A supportive carbon fiber plate decorated with a metallic-looking grid that alternates between different shades of gray sits between the outsole and the midsole, its center displaying a white Jumpman logo. Meanwhile, the midsole layered above it is made from soft white Phylon foam with a full-length Air unit concealed within to bring high levels of comfort to the wearer.
On the upper, in place of the usual patent leather mudguard is one that has been coated in a coarsely textured material with a Metallic Silver finish. Thus, the sneaker has an eye-catching sheen, while the premium leather upper delivers more finery over the top of the foot. This goes for both the quarter panels and the heel overlay, as well as the tongue. The last feature has a branding patch sewn across its center, the text and Jumpman residing there both appearing in a subtle off-white hue that makes them barely perceptible. A similarly sophisticated effect has been achieved on the insole, whose lightly tinted exterior hosts a white Jumpman.
The shoe’s inner lining is also white in tone, as is its unique webbed lacing system. This consists of six textile bands that stretch upwards from the seams connecting the heel overlay and the mudguard to the quarter panel on each sidewall. These all possess a looped end where they reach the tongue, creating eyelets for the white laces to be passed through. Elsewhere, the inner lining spills out over the heel to forge a tab that has been used to display Jordan’s favored 23 in Vast Grey stitching. Finally, to the lateral side of this number is a Metallic Silver Jumpman which rises boldly from the white surface behind it in conclusion of this compelling Jordan 11 design.
