WNBA champion A’ja Wilson has been a Nike athlete since 2018, and in 2024, she received her own signature shoe. Crafted to match her versatile playing style, the Nike A’One is filled with storytelling details designed to inspire the next generation of basketball stars.

The A’One features a durable upper made from sturdy textiles and a breathable screen mesh. A synthetic leather panel forms the eyestay, which extends to the generously padded heel. A supportive internal counter reinforces the back of the foot, with more plush cushioning on the collar and tongue to protect the ankle and midfoot. The medial eyelets reach down to connect with the strobel board for improved lockdown, providing reliable arch support and a secure fit that facilitates controlled, slip-free movement.

The foundation of the Nike A’One is a lightweight and responsive dual-density midsole with a full-length piece of comfortable Cushlon 3.0 foam inside a durable Phylon foam carrier. A lateral TPU frame adds extra stability to the midsole, as does the humped heel and the internal torsion control plate in the midfoot. The dynamic outsole tread incorporates multiple curving nodes arranged into a radial design that emanates out from a central Swoosh to create multi-directional grip for enhanced support during swift cuts, pivots and lateral steps. Lastly, the rubber covering the toe extends up over the forefoot of the midsole, further improving stability.

The A’One represents A’ja Wilson’s compelling journey with features like her personal logo attached to the tongue. Glossy and metallic, it is based on the characteristic star from her signature, which also forms the uppermost eyelet, while the sleek, pearlized sidewall Swooshes and midsole bezel reference the pearl necklace Wilson’s inspirational grandmother gifted to her as a child. The contoured upper’s topographical color gradient tapers into a sharp point at the asymmetrical forefoot, A’ja text adorns the heel and her signature the toe, and subtly embroidered Celtic symbols for “mom” and “dad” decorate the back of the tongue, honoring the unwavering support of her mother and father. Powerful quotes are etched into the sole, one from her grandmother: “As a matter of fact, the best is yet to come”, the other her own: “Weakness? Weakness? We don’t got time for that”.

The A’One was launched in May 2025 following a campaign focused on A’ja’s storied career and positive cultural impact. It included interviews with role models from her youth alongside videos of girls playing basketball and performing a special handclapping song about A’ja, some of which were directed by Barack Obama’s daughter Malia. The Nike A’One Experience release event offered A’ja’s fans the chance to interact directly with her in an immersive cultural experience that showcased the stunning debut Pink A’ura colorway.
